[BirdPhotoIndia] Nilgiri laughingthrush, Ooty, May 2011

We found a small forest and reservoir a few km from the resort where we were staying in Ooty, and some birding sessions there yielded all the Nilgiri specialties from the pipit and flycatchers to the laughingthrush, thus saving us the trip to Doddabetta to see (we were told) laughingthrushes foraging in garbage. The birding was much more pleasant here, but the birds more difficult to photograph. Finally got this shot at the end of the last day's session.

29 May 2011, Ooty.

Cheers,
Garima
