On Thursday morning I was on my terrace when a Scaly Breasted Munia flew past me, carrying a long blade of grass with it. It perched in the canopy of a nearby tree and carried the blade of grass within a dense bunch of leaves. Soon another bird also apperared, once again carrying some long grass with it.
I had seen these birds showing some nesting activity about 2 weeks back but had not spotted them since then. Now I am sure that they have decided to nest just outside my house.
One bird took a break and observed me suspiciously for a minute before getting back to its work, allowing some shots.
