(delhibirdpix) Short Toed Snake Eagle - Gurgaon-Faridabad Road

Hi,

After patroling  on the beautiful  stretch of Gurgaon - Faridabad road on February 10th, 2012 , spotted  5-6 types of Raptors .Some  displaying fighting instincts . Some  were too far  to  be  identified clearly.

One thing which is  unfavourable  is that  here  you always  see them flying high , as  they land  inside  the  deep hilly  forest, but
the  beauty to  see them landing there shall be uncomparable.

ALSO , After the Gurgaon municipal dept. dumped a dead animal, there were around 200 Black/Black eared kites but none  of the  high end raptor like  vulture, Steppe eagle  landed , because of site  being close  to  the road. I think now  they  rarely  land near  the  road how much  good  feast  they  are getting . Earlier they  dont have  this  condition (i.e  the Road and  the  traffic)

Cheers,

Jitender Dhir
