A cloudy afternoon at Rajarhat revealed quite a good population of birds.. among these Openbills, there were 10-12 Watercocks and 7-8 Pheasant-tailed Jacanas...

Today at Karnala Bird Sanctuary, Mumbai. It was repeatedly diving into
the nearby stream for bathing.
Shot in rather poor light and high ISO ( ISO 2000 ) had to be used.

[BirdPhotoIndia] A Record Shot
Hi,
An adult Red-vented Bulbul ( one of its parents) came and put something into the chick's mouth. I had no idea what it could be! Could anyone suggest anything ? Though it looked more like egg yolk, could it be mango pulp ?
This Red-vented Bulbul chick was shot at Kolkata,India on 8th June'11.

Hi,
Day by day my maid cum friend is getting more bird conscious than me.We share many birding moments from my balcony or terrace. Now it has become a routine that while cleaning my room, she would give a break and would stand behind me with the broom in her hand to see and enjoy the bird images on my laptop screen and ask about it.One day she got very thrilled to discover three cute, little bulbul chicks on my mango tree and came running to me to give the great news! So, for these images, the credit goes to her.
A Red-vented Bulbul chick with its parent ( though it would be more apt to call it white-rumped as the vent was still not that red :-) ) .
Shot in Kolkata,India on 8th June'11.
