A HAPPY BENGALI NEW YEAR-1418.Last sunday(17.04.2011)i along with my friend(Sumit chakroborty)visited Belun,a village located near Katwa station in Burdwan district,West bengal.its a 15minutes journey from Katwa to siblun station via Azimgunge line and then another 10 minutes on foot will took you to Belun village,where a few young people have taken an initiative to protect ,nurture and showcase the regions bio diversity for the last 16-17 years.they have constucted a wildlife and conservation institute/society named irebel.BELUN is a birding PARADISE with more than 150 types birds and other species of flora and fauna.even local teenagers have been trained to become guidest expert trackers.you can stay here and work as accomodation for at least 6 people is available.its an ideal spot for watching BIRD AND WILDLIFE.for details please visit www.irebel.asia .you can even contact me for further information.

Actualy we visited the village only to watch the nesting behaviour of BLUE-TAILED BEE-EATER(Merops philippinus).here,one photo of the bird
