to jhalda and around jhalda. country side is lush
green and all streams descending from the hills
are carrying a healthy volume of white water and making
a pleasant sound. weather was good and caution level
for the maobadis was high. however going to
known places with local friends is absolutely safe.

night jar (no id yet), ashy prinia (many), grey breasted prinia (many),
large cuckoo shrike, indian pitta (call only), pied cuckoo
(male, female and juv), indian bush lark (thanks to Mr. Sumit Sen
for id), common hawk cuckoo,
yellow wattled lapwing (20+), red wattled lapwing (20+),
ashy crowned sparrow lark (plenty), little ringed plover,
yellow eyed babbler (4), white breasted king fisher,
green bee eater, long tailed shrike (tri-colir),
grey francolin (5+2+2), red rumped swallow, black shouldered kite, black rumped
flameback, common tailorbird, indian robin, little egret,
magpie robin, indian pond heron....
