With all the controversy about land acquisition in the area, the work by Ansals seems to have been temporarily suspended. Now, if the rain Gods are kind enough for another season of heavy downpour in the area, we might see Dadri Wetlands lasting for another year.
Highlight was the appearance of Bristled Grassbird - Male calling and settling down on the very plot of land where breeding took place last year. Hope there is repeat performance.
There were at least two competitors this time - one of the two seen calling and settling down on an adjacent plot while the other one was just heard not seen.
Total of three birds is good news.
The other high light was Sarus. Seen 1+2+1+1+2+2, i.e., four pairs and a single. Also saw one of Sarus in sitting position inside the marsh area near the road where we park cars. Not sure but every time I have seen Sarus, it had been sitting on an egg. May be experts can opine.
Other usual birds seen.
Here is pair in a synchronized flying pattern.
Cheers.
