Dear All,
It was treat to see not one or two but 36 budding birders learning to watch birds today at Okhla Bird Park. Students from a leading School came all the way from Gurgaon just to see birds and learn the beauty of nature. Starting from the school at crack dawn to reach the bird sanctuary, they were greeted by numerous purple moorhens, cormorants, darters, coots, ducks, water-hens, spoon-bills, painted storks, herons, jacanas, lapwings, flamingos etc and hunting pair of Marsh harrier.
What they missed were sitting spots, eating spots, resting spots and the bird boards should have been on the the other side of the road as they obstruct the lake views. Even fixed all weather proof telescopes for viewing at strategic spots would have helped.
Warm regards,
Sharad Khanna
