(delhibirdpix) ID help - Is this a mallard ?

Dear All,

I have seen this bird on many occasions in Hauz Khas lake. The present picture is clicked today morning itself in Hauz khas lake, South Delhi.

Earlier when i had posted this on a birding forum on fb, I was told that it was a domesticated mallard!

I'm not an expert to tell the difference. Could someone help with this?
