[BirdPhotoIndia] White-rumped Vulture

A White-rumped Vulture, Guijan Village, near Dibru-Saikhowa National Park, Upper Assam. Photographed on 21st Feb, 2010.We saw a group of about 70 White-rumped Vultures and Himalayan Griffons congregating over a cattle carcass. 

The park supports a good number of vultures owing to the presence of a large number of cattle in surrounding areas. These regularly stray inside the park to graze and have completely mowed down some parts of the grasslands.
