[BirdPhotoIndia] RNP

A Red-necked Phalarope (Phalaropus lobatus), this tiny but very pretty wader was very high on my list for Jamnagar.
If my last sighting of flocks in thousands was overwhelming then this sighting was a joy for the photographer in me. As per literature they are supposed to be extremely timid but I never expected this bird, which looks like a piece of thermocole bobbing in the water while it circled in its unique hunting style; to show up at frame popping distance. Add to that the blue blue waters flecked with gold and the light summing up the magic of Gujarat.
You can see it moulting into breeding plumage with red starting to show up on its neck.
