(delhibirdpix) Pelagic Bird: Arabian Shearwater ( Correct ID)

This bird image which was earlier posted on the Delhipix as Tropical Sherawter has now been identified as Arabian Shearwater by Uditha and Deepal. The explanation given by them is as under:

" shearwaters were Arabian shearwaters (Puffinus persicus).  the dorsal colour of the Tropical is sooty-black while in Arabian it is blackish brown to chocolate brown. Key id features were having black on the flank. shape and amount of white on the under wing. Pink colour leggs. all these features lead it to Arabian shearwaters (Puffinus persicus). In Tropical it has black (ish) head with white flank and more white on the under wing. Tropical  shearwaters (Puffinus bailloni) has blueish leggs"
