Identified as a Thick-billed Warbler by Mr. Saurav Sawant. A ‘lifer’ for me.
Thank you.

5th May 2010 at Dibrugarh, Assam.
This bird is just a little larger than a sparrow with a more linear shape to the body. It makes sounds similar to a Clamorous Reed Warbler and is extremely loud. Initially I heard the sounds from a dwarf bamboo hedge bordering our bungalow, but lately it has taken to sit high in the canopy of a tree and sing. It is extremely shy and hardly ever shows itself. I am attaching a collage of the photos that I could manage.
Thanks
Raj
