Little egret in breeding plumage near Balgona, on the road from Burdwan to Katwa. Image captured on Sunday. I found that the shallow water body where they were feeding (alongwith a dozen or so Indian pond herons) was ashy grey due to the presence of coal dust from a nearby cooking coal shop/factory. They didn't seem to mind the pollution.
