[BirdPhotoIndia] Baya Weaver

Hi All

Spotted near Murbad, Maharastra last week,  these birds in full breeding plumage , at the roadside palm tree, busy with finishing their nest. There were a flock of around 8/10 birds coming with nesting material , did some patchwork and flying away for more material to collect. Just ignored our presence  - the tree was hardly 10 feet away from the busy roadside - spotting so many birds on a single palm tree we could not resist ourselve from observing their activity - of course keeping a safe distance - it is really interesting to observe how neatly and efficiently they tie up each stripe of nesting material - mostly strip of long grasses .

Hope I am not breaking the posting norm - I am not posting any nest pics - only expressing my joy observing the nesting activity.

Thanks

Dalia
