[BirdPhotoIndia] My New Acquisition

Oriental Magpie Robin (Copsychus saularis) in Sawai Madhopur Circuit House, Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, India on 3rd of June 2010.

Camera Body:
Pentax Kx
Lens: SMC Pentax (K) 300mm f4

I have just acquired a 1977 SMC Pentax (K series) 300 F4 prime lens. At 1020 gms, it is heavy and allows only manual focusing and stop down manual metering. This is the first test shot and IMO without ED elements, purple/magenta/Aqua fringing in High Contrast situations will be a problem. Nevertheless, for its price to performance ratio, it is a pleasure to use. Even at f4, it is quite sharp. Will take me some time to learn how to use it optimally, and I am looking forward to it.

regards,

Arijit Banerjee
