[BirdPhotoIndia] Re:Birding at Rabongla

Friends,
Rabongla (6590 ft) is a biodiversity rich terrain. We sojourned there for 2 days. Not withstanding the bad weather condition it was a productive Birding trip, for us. Actually we reached Rabongla after a hectic summer trekking schedule in West Sikkim .Thus we preferred not to indulge into another trek i.e. Menam  trek. Instead we went to Cho zo lake, which was merely 2kms from hotel Silver Fur. But in reality Cho Zo Lake can hardly be termed as waterbody.Being a deserted place, it became home to various avian species.Birds were in abundance around the approach to Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary. Poor visibility and lack of professional camera added to our woes. However here is what we have seen.

1)      Collered Treepie

2)      Fire Brested Flower pecker

3)      Himalayan Bulbul

4)      Burn Swallow

5)      Whiskered Yuhina

6)      Grey Winged Blackbird

7)      Slaty blue Flycatcher

8)      Great Barbet

9)      White Browed Shortwing

10)   Spotted Babbler

11)   Verditer Flycatcher

12)   Yellow cheeked Tit

13)   Eurasian Tree Sparrow

14)  Chestnut bellied Nuthatch
