[BirdPhotoIndia] Asian Openbill

An openbill in a yogic posture.A visit to two colonies of the Asian Openbill in Joggonagar near Shantiniketan, WB, made for interesting viewing of these large storks that breed during this time atop tamarind trees.The visit was organised by CEMO (Centre for Ecological Movement). We were also taken to Papuri, some twenty minutes drive from Joggonagar, to see the breeding grounds of the endangered Black-headed Ibis.
