This endangered bulbul is quite easy to see at Hampi, at Mathangi Hill, up the steps leading from the market area. Thanks to Samad Kottur for showing me the location 2 years ago. This time I led my birding companions there one evening and we pleased to find several bulbuls in the area, actively feeding on berries and perching out in the open unlike their relatives in Bangalore outskirts.
