Grey Hypocolius (Hypocolius ampelinus)  Kutch- Gujarat on 08th Jan.,2010


The Hypocolius or Grey Hypocolius (Hypocolius ampelinus) is a small passerine bird species. This slender and long tailed bird is found in the dry semi-desert region of northern Africa, Arabia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and western India.
They comes as winter visitor  only in Banni Grassland, Kutch (Gujarat) in mid of November. and live here up to March every year.
They fly in flocks and forage feeds on fruits of Salvadora Persica (toothbrush tree).
