(delhibirdpix) Just Born - Welcome Me Please - 2 of 2

"Just Born - Welcome Me Please" or so seems to say this beautiful,
cuddly chick of Sarus.

Spent almost a half or more at the spot watching the Sarus in sitting
posture in a field on one side of the road and Egyptian Vultures
devouring the carcass of a Buffalo on the other side.

Coming back after an hours and a half later - the chick was there
barely visible and that too only when it was scoped. Movement revealed
its location.

Mother had just called the Father (or vice-versa). And, every time
the Father or the Mother - let us call a Parent - would fly away to
feed, it would be called back and it would come. (Of course, giving me
opportunity to capture in my camera the bird in flight - got some good
shots, which would be shared as I process these).

It rained. The Parents would then spread wings to shield the chick.

Only hope the chick has survived the heavy and incessant rains.

Cheers.
