Hi,
It was almost dusk and the 'chai-wala' was preparing tea for the last time for us before he packed to leave. We were busy watching redstarts at the Kang-chen-dzonga Falls in South Sikkim when suddenly, beyond our expectation, this Little Forktail appeared from nowhere! The light was very poor, a light drizzle was there and the forktail was quite at some distance from us.
Still, we were very excited to watch it perching on a branch of a shrub preening itself, taking shower gleefully in the ice-cold water of the gushing stream and at times searching for an evening snack. It was constantly jerking open and fanning its little tail like a scissor. It got me captivated instantly by its wonderful black and white body and beautiful pink legs!
I could not manage better images but just thought of sharing my joy with you.
Shot on 18th Oct, 2010.
Cheers!
Maitreyee
