(delhibirdpix) The Commoners - # 44.47 - Sarus Crane (Grus antigone) - 2010-247

NEED YOUR COMMENTS ON 'COLORS'.

My iMac screen had developed a number of dark spots towards the top of the Screen.  Diagnosis was 'caused by moisture possibly'.   Apple changed the screen.

The New Screen look way bright and the 'white looks like washed by lime (the good ways of white-washing the walls) and tinged with a lot more blue in it than it should be.  The grey also look washed with blue.  No calibration or any thing has been done yet - it is as it came.

I have processed the images in the usual way - converting from raw to tiff, scaling and cropping and adjusted for either level or shadows-highlights or curve, sharpened.  Know very little about PP beyond this.

Need to know if you see find the color rendition as 'true' or I need to take the iMac to workshop for 'Calibration' ?

This is the first time that I have seen a Sarus Crane with a Yellow Eye similar to the images posted by Mital Patel in July.
A Biologist had answered the question of 'Yellow Eyes in Cranes' as "In every crane species I know of, eye color changes in juveniles of both sexes as they approach adulthood.  It generally takes 2-4 years for the adult iris color to be attained." This Sarus Individual was seen with its parents till earlier in the Year in the general area.  Had seen this bird alone during the last three of four visits to this area - meaning it has weaned away from the Parent when they have done a breeding act this year. Apparently, it has not yet achieved full adulthood and is still to find a mate.

I would assume the images of the chick shared in previous weeks would be it its sibling.

Regards.
