Hi,
The old news, that the pioneer birdwatchers had seen Ashy-throated Sparrow Larks by dozens, brought Ratnadi and me to their favourite spot near Arts Acre at Rajarhat at the last weekend.
To our dismay, we found only one or two of them in our four hour long 'combing operation' but that, to some extent was compensated by the presence of many other birds. I am trying to share images of some of them with you.
It was a Sunday and it seemed the Sun was also taking the Sabbath! The sky was completely overcast and full of dirty-cotton-ball-clouds.Though I found some of the birds from very close distance , due to poor light it was impossible to have good photographs. When there was a group of them, I could not even increase the d-o-f to have them all in right focus :-/
So, I will be happy if you kindly overlook the sad picture quality! I am posting a list of them in bengalbird.
These are Indian Silverbills shot on 21.11.10
Thanking you,
Maitreyee
