Yesterday we visited Dhamakhali(South 24 Parganas), 7 km off the Basanti highway from Sarberia(65 km). The area is full of bheris and seems a good place to go, specially during late winter when the bheris dry up and the small waders arrive in numbers. You can also take the ferry to cross over to Chhoto Tushkhali from where wintering ducks have been reported earlier.
