[BirdPhotoIndia] Old images: Those were the days - Pied Avocet (film)

Hi Folks,
As a bird-loving youngster I remember days when thousands and thousands of waterfowl and waders used to descend on the Salt Lake marshes in winter. That was in the '60's, and those halcyon days are long gone. But in 2002 we did have a glimpse of the past when over 200 Pied Avocets spent a few weeks at Nalban Bheri (a part of the old marshes, but now reconverted for use as a commercial fishery).
That is the last time we had seen this species in such numbers in Kolkata. A part of the flock can be seen in the attached.
