Saurabh,
many thanks for your helpful response and I apologise for the delay in responding. I think the falcon I labelled as a Peregrine in my previous email is indeed a Shaheen. Is the one attached with this email a Eurasian Hobby?
I have poor images of several other raptors, which I will post soon.
Thanks all for the help with IDs of Raptors of Ranthambhor.

Agreed, except the bird that looks like a Hobby; is certainly a Peregrine Falcon (Shaheen) to me. And I suppose you meant 31st October, 2010.

Thanks, Ramit, for the correction. The OHB doesnt seem to stop misleading us! Some local experts idenditified those two raptors as GH Fish Eagle and Osprey, the picture quality of which is so poor. But watching the bird fly, it certainly did not appear as a Marsh Harrier. Lets see if better images can be found.Thanks.SushmitaOn Tue, Nov 2, 2010 at 3:18 PM, Ramit Singal <ramitsingal@gmail.com> wrote:
Hi
The Grey-headed Fish Eagle is an Oriental Honey Buzzard while the Osprey is a Marsh Harrier.
I'm not sure about the falcon either. It looks like one of the smaller ones, and I thought it was a Hobby at first sight. But with that angle and pic quality, I really can't say.
Cheers!
