This is a male from the Kohima zoo (access by special permission) -- one of the birds part of the captive breeding program planned by the Nagaland govt. These birds are endemic to NE India, Bhutan and Myanmar and are seriously threatened by habitat loss and hunting. Not much is known about the population of these birds except that there are 'a few thousand' left. If Nagaland and Aruncahal Pradesh are strongholds for any species, it doesn't reflect a bright future. For more details follow this link: http://goo.gl/KbMvp
Sincerely hoping that the captive breeding and its subsequent introduction into the wild is a huge success.
