Hi all, A picture of a juvenile Peregrine Falcon carrying off a still live parakeet, which it knocked off from a stoop. The juvenile peregrine was in a wait-on position a good 200 + meters in the sky, making wide circles, and once a group of parakeets passed below it, it changed gears and dropped like a stone in a near vertical stoop; it fell down at the parakeets and knocked of one of them. The parakeet was disabled with the peregrine's stoop and fell down onto the ground. The peregrine came down and picked off the ill-fated parakeet and delivered the coup-de-grace (severed the neck) with its specialised beak and carried it off onto a tree.
