(delhibirdpix) Darters at Harike under threat from Land grabbers

Darter  Anhinga melanogaster is a resident bird at Harike. During the recently held survey of the Sanctuary a roosting site gave a count of over a hundred birds which is a considerable population in view of the fact that the national surveyed population is pegged at aprox 2000 birds.

This colony at Harike deserves special protection specialy since The local land grabbers read religious Institution, has their eye on the land on which the roosting colony exists. local revenue officials and their political masters have been hand in glove with the local baba in the past and there seems to be a move to heist of this land for political gains.

These Birds Need Protectction. Even though they reside in a declared Sanctuary !!!

Please Help to save the Darters at Harike Sanctuary.

Regards
Narbir
