From my archives.. Sultanpur National Park, Haryana, India April 28th 2008
This pair of Scops Owls has bred in 2008 and 2009 in the exact same spot - a Delhibird Nesting Box inside Sultanpur..
The couple built its nest in March 2008 and we (Sanjay Sharma and I) had the first glimpse of 3 babies sitting at the edge in the first week of April 2008.
These pics from end april 08 are probably the first day out for this young guy.. couldn't fly very well at all and was clinging and climbing from branch to branch reminiscent of spiderman .. while the excited parent keep hooting encouragement throughout..
The family finally left the nest only in May and all 3 young ones survived..
