sharing a pic of this beauty- a male Paradise Flycatcher spotted at
Shyamkhola last year in May.
(Although this is a birdwatching group, still I would love to share an
exciting news with you all on this platform. I am sure the wildlife
enthusiasts of Kolkata will take a lot of interest in this. My birder
friends Mr.Debarshi Chakraborty and Mr.Parikshit Ghosh have spotted a
Bengal or Indian Monitor (Varanus bengalensis) on 13th March 2011 in
CKBS...which is probably the first photographic record of this species
from CKBS.
Water Monitor is the abundant species in and around Kolkata, and we
birders have seen only the Water monitor in CKBS.
