[BirdPhotoIndia] A Brahminy Kite

Hi,
When we were returning from Bhetnoi and going towards Chilika, near a roadside pond, we came across 30 to 40 Brahminy Kites. They were flying high encircling overhead. We knew the reason of such a congregation when we saw a number of fishermen sitting at the bank were busy discarding fish and molluscs etc from their catch. Though there were so many of them, it was difficult to capture them as they were quite far and most of the time at the same plane as our eyes and also flying speedily. There were many juveniles too and only a few looked gorgeous with their beautiful contrasting rust and white colours.
This Kite suddenly came too close to go beyond my frame and thus made me feel like Ravana who had chopped off its beautiful wings :-(
Excuse me for that!
Shot on 31st Jan,2011.
Thanks,
Maitreyee
