Hi,
The Chestnut-bellied Sandgrouses are ubiquitous in the GRK and LRK in Gujarat. It seemed they were very peaceful and we always found them basking or dozing off under the shade of small shrubs. So we had no idea that they could suddenly lift their heavy bodies so high in the sky and fly away with strong wing beats. I am posting this terrible image just to show you that.Taken at Little Rann on 28.12.10.
Thanks,
Maitreyee
