Photographed at Chafi, Sattal on 24 Feb 11. The kaleej kept giving us glimpses when they crossed the road else where in pongot. but after a contended full day birding at chafi, when we were returning back, i decided to walk a bit to pollute the area with smoke..and not to bother others who had already settled in the car...just then a pair of Red jungle fowl flew across the road ...followed by a Kaleej male and two females..our adventure, exitement and birding started all over again in whatever remained of the daylight. The Jungle fowl vanished but the small family of one male kaleej and his two females remained in the area for almost half an area..unperturbed by the disturbance created by the onlookers standing behind us....after some time the zoom had to be reduced to 200 or less to accomodate them because they kept getting so close..an experience ..
