I've seen this bird a couple of times in Ooty but never managed to get a good photograph of it. This bird was unmindful of my presence (and that of other people walking up and down the track) and was in a feeding frenzy. There were times when it landed less than a foot away from me to pick up a morsel. Totally awesome.
Eravikulam and Munnar also yielded a lot of more lifers - White-bellied Shortwing (or Nilgiri Blue-Robin as it is sometimes referred to as), Painted Bush Quails, Nilgiri Flycatcher (always missed a good look at it in Ooty), Kerala Laughingthrush and Pacific Swallow. Managed only record shots of the Painted Bush Quails as they ran across the road.
Cheers,
