(delhibirdpix) Nothing Protects Like Mom

"Nothing Protects Like Mom", would always say and remember the two new born chicks of this Indian Courser. Must not be more a couple of days old based on my observing last year this species extensively.

WingCo Sethi and I arrived at the Sultanpur National Park at about 6.40 - amidst pouring rain on the way, drizzle at the gate which were locked and no sight of the park staff or other birders.

A few minutes of deliberations - to return and write-off the outing or just make a short trip to the flat and have a look at the Indian Coursers, which breed there at this time of the year. Decided on the latter and soon found 3 Adults, then a Family (2 adults and 2 chicks) and then 2 Adults and then 1 Adult again.

The rain, which had almost stopped, started again and soon the chicks ran to mom who opened her wings and protected the two as seen (or unseen) here.

Cheers.
