Hi
visited the reedbeds of Kalikapur today morning with birdwatching friend- Parikhhit Ghosh., and we spotted this male Greater Panted Snipe that emerged out of the tall reeds and started preening....it has always been a pleasure to watch this nice snipe. Although called a snipe, this bird is actually not related to the true snipes., and has a familty of its own Gastratulidae.
