A few days ago I reported sighting these passage migrants making Delhi their home for a few days. Every April they come, create commotion in the early morning on a Bombax tree and leave Delhi. Here are a few pictures of these wonderful birds.

On 15 February 2015, I saw a flock of birds flying and landing on a pepul (Ficus religiosa) tree in my village Gollaprolu, East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh. Their flight and colour are not familiar. I asked locals and their reply was Mynas. I photographed and consulted A Pictoral Guide to the Hirds of the Indian subcontinent by Salim Ali & Dillon Ripley. I browsed net and found the birds resembling rosy pastors. They are migrant birds, since they are not seen on other days.
The Rosy pastors visit, every winter, Pithapuramu and its neibourhood, in flocks of hundreds of birds.
