We encountered two males on a tree at about 7 in the morning. Upon
noticing us they started making alarm calls (short grunts, we recorded
this). Later, after 3 hours or so, while passing the same spot we
noticed a large pheasant chick (too big to be that of a partridge)
which ran in a bush. We heard the same alarm call from the bush where
it disappeared and thus think that it was a Tragopan chick. I could
not photograph the chick because of the pouring rain
