(delhibirdpix) The Commoners - # 42.03 - Little Ringed Plover (Charadrius dubius) - 2011-148

Part of Dadri Wetlands seem to be getting another short lease of life with the resident farmers of the area taking up cudgels against the Builders. Work seems to have stopped.

I hope there is a similar level of rainfall as last year that might given another pleasurable year of bird watching - it continues to produce something or the other.

Got this young chick of Little Ringed Plover this morning. A pair following the Mom and Dad. My first sighting of a Plover chick.

Other highlights were sighting of a Crested Serpent Eagle - the crows would not let it sit or perch so I could photograph. Tata's Safari failed to make your own road, as they advertise.

An Indian Spotted Eagle to was being harassed by the crows.

A few hundred Weaver flying around.

Other usuals present including three pairs of Sarus Cranes.

Cheers.
