Came back disappointed. The builder has cleaned up a lot of reeds, small bushes and even some small tree along the Canal and irrigation channel. This area always threw up some good sighting. Hardly any birds in the area except three Brown Crakes - there were different calls and may be these were getting ready to breed. Caught one of these - is it displaying ? Or, just drying up the feathers ?
The main marsh or wetland is inaccessible even for a 4x4 in lowest of gear ratios. All the soil dumped is now spread over the bullock cart track - no way one could reach the wetland. It would possibly remain so until the rains stop and Sun dries up the approach.
Dadri is perhaps out for the next 4-5 months.
Sarus, of course, was seen.
