[BirdPhotoIndia] fem BR

The Black Redstart ssp. Phoenicurus ochruros phoenicuroides was by far the most common breeding bird I saw in Ladakh. Saw more than 10 nests on this stretch before i stopped counting.
Here is the female in on her turn with a beak load of grubs for the chicks. The pair just covered an area of less than 100 sq. mts returning to the nest every 10mins in turns for feed the chicks. Looking at the amount of food on each sortie its easy to imagine the voracious appetite of the chicks.
