(delhibirdpix) The Commoners - # 149 - Indian Peafowl (Pavo cristatus) - 2011-167

Made a visit this morning to Okhla Bird Park. Very pleasant weather - cloudy, light breeze and some of the common birds making it a good morning.

Highlight was a full feather display by a Peacock - the hens were no where in sight though. Here is an image and a link to video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCB1s5Uqgw8

The Spotted Owlets not seen yesterday, one of these posed for me and when it looked the other side, I walked close enough to fill frames.

Water cock was missing and so was the Bristled Grassbird. Have uploaded a copy of the article published in the December issue of Birding Asia to Delhi Bird and Birds Pix groups in file section.

Other usual birds. A nesting Golden Oriole and a Black Drongo Feeding the young.

Cheers.
