(delhibirdpix) Arrival of the Siberian Stonechat- Kolkata

Hi

I went to the Rajarhat marshes today morning with birder friend Mr. Debarshi Chakraborty, and we were lucky enough to spot a Siberian Stonechat (Saxicola maurus). We could identify the bird easily as it was perching on the top of the bushes....a typical behaviour found in the Saxicola chat.

This is probably the first sighting of this winter migrant in Kolkata.

Remarks: This is the first sighting of this winter vistor- Stonechat in Rajarhat area (probably Kolkata)
