Comments: Lesser Kestrel is a passage migrant in India, though occasionally believed to over-winter. The population that migrates to Africa through India breeds in China and Mongolia. Most of the birds avoid Himalayas and enter India from Arunachal Pradesh & Nagaland but some are believed to fly across high Himalayas & cut across North-west India to reach India's western coast before they head towards Africa.
