From Tal Chapar WLS, Churu, Rajasthan, India with SS Poonia.
Every September for 2-3 weeks, the bird commoner than the house sparrow within the boundaries of Tal Chapar is the White-eyed Buzzard.. number 1000-1500 or even more.. surprisingly they're all juveniles. Maybe less than 10 in this group are adults.
The other surprising thing is that while the juveniles allow ridiculously close approach, the adults run off from over 50 meters..
The enclosed picture is my only decent shot of this bird with my 300 mm lens.. taken in May at a waterhole within the sanctuary in 52 degrees C.
Thanks
Sharad
