(delhibirdpix) Blue-capped Rock Thrush

Species: Blue-capped Rock Thrush (Monticola cinclorhynchus)
Location: Nandi Hills, Bangalore
Date and Time: 21st Jan 2013, 9:30 AM

P.S. Nandi Hills 60 KM from Bangalore used to be a haven for birders. Many rare species were easy to spot there till a few years back. Tourism and picnicking are driving the birds away from this place. Huts, picnic spots, shelters and facilities are being built there at the cost of the habitat. Hundreds of labours are 'beautifying'the area by clearing scrubs, repairing roads and generally moving around and littering. Monkey population is booming. The moment an monkey spots you, he follows you in the hope of getting a morsel or two and driving away birds.
