(delhibirdpix) Re: [delhibird] Re: Brown Shrike(Lanius cristatus) @ Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary

Hi all

Chandrima and I were among the first to be shown the shrike in
question by the guide Sanjay on January 13th this year. On that day,
there was only one individual. We had posted the pics to individual
experts, but not to the forum.

I assumed that there would be several photos on the forum as quite a
few members have seen the shrike in subsequent weeks.

There aren't - for some reason, I cannot view any attachment in Mr.
Bodhisattwa Dasgupta's email, and also haven't seen any email with the
pics (by Dr. Sanjay Agarwal) that Mr. Sunil Kumar had mentioned he
would post last week.

So I am now posting to the Group the ones that I took, which I
actually should have done much earlier, but for my laziness:-)

Mine show a definite contrast between the crown and back colours, THAT
is for sure.

Brown Shrike or Isabelline Shrike ssp phoenicuroides - take your pick.

I certainly have.

Regards

Amitava Misra
