(delhibirdpix) Blue-throated Blue Flycatcher, first record for Nagpur Pic I

Species: Blue-throated Blue Flycatcher
Location: Nagpur, Maharashtra, India
Date: 31st March, 2013

Remark: The Incredible Bird-sighting!
Such sightings happen once in a blue moon. None would have imagined it could visit Central India. More surprising was the sighting of the bird in the city. The story didn't end here. The bird decided to pay a visit to a birdwatcher's house in the city. When Omkar Gajarlwar noticed this bird perched in his garden, he thought it was a Tickell's Blue Flycatcher. He was exhilarated when he examined it further. It was a Blue-throated Blue Flycatcher a bird which is winter visitor to the Southern tip of India, and the summer visitor to the Himalayas. I am thankful to Omkar for inviting me to his place for sighting. This is the first record of the bird in Nagpur.
